The Healthworkers’ Support Foundation’s charitable purposes are, in particular but without limitation in connection with dealing with coronavirus (COVID-19), to advance the physical and mental health, to relieve from suffering, hardship or distress (whether financial or otherwise), and to promote and sustain the wellbeing of current and former Healthcare Workers and their families and dependants.
We take a broad view of Healthcare Workers, to mean and include anyone who delivers care and services to the sick and ailing, whether directly (including as doctors, nurses and carers) or indirectly (including as aides, helpers, laboratory technicians, medical waste handlers and other hospital and care home staff) and it also includes volunteers assisting in these and related areas.
The current focus of the Healthworker’s Support Foundation is to support the Feed the Frontline and Digbeth Digs Deep initiatives and accordingly it does not accept unsolicited applications for any other purpose.

Feed The Frontline
Feed the Frontline is ensuring healthy food is getting into the hands of frontline staff, so we can sustain them as they work all hours fighting Covid-19.
By working with the local market network up and down the country, who can deliver quickly and with minimum fuss direct to hospitals, it means every donation today will be healthy food in the hands of key workers in days.
Digbeth Digs Deep
The Digbeth Estate has launched a new charitable initiative in order to help support our incredible NHS staff and those in need with free meal deliveries and care packages including much needed personal care items during these unprecedented times.
Coming together as a community is what we do best here in Digbeth and we’d love to give something back to those who are giving up so much. By supporting them on shift with nourishing home cooked meals we hope to help their mental and physical wellbeing in what must be a very difficult time for them.
Digbeth Digs Deep is looking to prepare and deliver meal and care packages to NHS staff, with the aim of providing a little bit of care for those that are giving so much to so many. Our amazing team at the Custard Factory and Fazeley Studios, alongside other chef volunteers from local businesses, have all agreed to volunteer their time to cook, package and deliver as many hot meals as we can to the Queen Elizabeth and Heartlands hospitals. We’re aiming for 400 meals, 3 days a week initially but hope we can scale this up. The care packages will consist of face wipes, moisturiser, hand cream and Vaseline to be used post shift.
